Interest Groups
ARCHAEOLOGY:
This Group will be responsible for locating
and documenting Native American burial sites and other sites of historical
significance in Northwest Georgia. In addition it will be responsible
for securing and maintaining an artifact collection. Under no conditions
shall this group ENGAGE in or PROMOTE DIGS.
CRAFTS AND CULTURES:
This group shall promote, display, create, and recreate the crafts
and arts of the Native Americans. Teach the techniques used in making
all forms of Native American art. Also this group shall explore the
traditions and beliefs of the Native American culture pertaining to
the various tribes.
GENEALOGY:
This group shall be responsible for,
but not limited to, all matters pertaining to the genealogical research
of our Native American ancestors. This group shall not engage in individual
research, but will offer advice and help to those members of the Association
who wish to research their Native American ancestry. Also to research,
collect, and maintain a finding list of Native American genealogical
books, manuscripts and other data, for the use of the Association
and its members.
HISTORY / RESEARCH / EDUCATION:
This group shall
have charge of all matters relating to educational research of the
Native American. Relating their findings to the membership and preserving
them for the future membership.
MEMBERSHIP / PUBLIC RELATIONS / FUND
RAISING:
This group shall have charge of all matters pertaining to
the membership of the Association, including the procuring of new
members, reinstatement of former members, and eligibility of members
and applicants for membership. Also be charged with the promotion
of the Association's program and activities.
NATIVE AMERICAN SUPPORT:
This group shall have charge of all matters pertaining to the rights
of Native Americans. Also, to support, and to participate in, defense
of those rights.
PROGRAMS / SPECIAL EVENTS:
This group shall have
charge of all programs and special events of the Association. It shall
work with the other Interest Groups of the Association and the Membership
to design programs of interest to all. It shall also plan and co-ordinate
all special events of the Association.
